Issues to be noted in the selection of feed pump for filter press in coal washing system

In the coal preparation system, the filter press can be divided into clean coal pressure filter and tail coal pressure filter according to the slurry treated. Its working process is divided into: feeding, pressurization (water filtration) and emptying. Whether the filter press feed pump as feed can work normally is directly related to the selection.

1. Choose the right type of product
There are many types of slurry pumps, and the design concepts and methods are different. Therefore, the performance curves of slurry pumps are different. In order to meet the working characteristics of the filter press well, choose the right equipment, that is, the filter press feed pump. Because this type of pump has a steep working characteristic curve, it can meet the operating conditions of the filter press well and is consistent with its working cycle. If other types of products are selected, although the basic parameters meet the requirements, problems such as pump shaft breakage are prone to occur in actual operation, resulting in unstable operation of the coal washing system and a short service life of the flow-through parts.
2. Determine the flow basis for selection
The parameters of the filter press feed pump of the coal washing system are a range. Designers of some coal washing plants and design institutes often consider the margin too much and often follow the principle of "better big than small". This is precisely the hidden danger that causes the subsequent abnormal operation of the filter press feed pump. In the actual selection, full communication should be conducted with the designer to determine the flow basis for selection in combination with the filter area of ​​the configured filter press.

3. Determine the required head value
When selecting the feed pump of the filter press, the user or designer often gives a pressure value. At this time, it is necessary to fully communicate with the user or designer to determine whether the value provided is the gauge pressure value or the clear water value. The filter press has specific requirements for the filtration pressure. In most cases, the value is the gauge pressure value, and the gauge pressure value should be converted into the liquid column height (clear water value). According to p=h, the gauge pressure value divided by the slurry weight is the liquid column height, that is: h =p /. Add the converted h value to the pump head. In the selection, the geometric height and the loss along the pipeline are calculated to determine the required head value.
The feed pump head value is not necessarily the higher the better. When the actual filtration pressure value is much higher than the pressure required by the filter press, it often causes the filter press filter cloth to have a short service life or even penetrate. This causes the system to stop operating, causing unnecessary losses to the normal production of the coal washing plant.
4. Choose the right transmission method
After selecting the right type of feed pump according to the right product type and parameters, you should consider choosing the right transmission method. The feed pump currently uses two main transmission methods: direct and indirect. On the one hand, considering the working characteristics of the feed pump, and on the other hand, in order to ensure that the flow-through components of the clean coal slurry have a longer service life, most feed pumps use indirect transmission. The commonly used indirect transmission method in the coal washing industry is belt transmission. If funds allow, direct transmission with variable frequency speed regulator is an excellent transmission method.
